jesse1378 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Share Posted February 21, 2011 i only have the 3.5 inch frog. you can use a 2/0 widegap and it fits it perfectly. all the frog hooks on the market just seem to be a little big for the 3.5. i dont add scent. i dont see a point. i dont add scent to my swimbaits either. i'm going to try and get some samples of the bigger frogs. oh i suggest using med plastic for the frogs over soft. i used soft for my firzt frogs and they didnt stay on the hooks that well...unless you use the frog hooks. saggitarius449 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Share Posted February 21, 2011 I like Bears 4.5" Frog myself. Its big but not too big. You would be surprised on how many small fish go for this frog. I use medium plastic and I add hardener. Its makes them alot more durable, and I dont add any scent. I use a 5/0 Wide Gap hook on em also. powerworm Posted February 21, 2011 Report Share Posted February 21, 2011 I LIKE THE 4" FROG AND USE A 5/0 WITH NO PROBLEM. AS FOR THE 3.5 A 5/0 MIGHT BE A TAD BIG. AND WE DONT USE ANY SCENT ON TOPWATER BAITS. WE ALSO USE SOFT PLASTIC WITH A MEDIUM WITH HARDENER ADDED VERY LITTLE BY THE WAY TO DIP THE BAITS IN THE SOFTNESS OF THE INSIDE KEEPS THE BAIT FROM BEING THROWN AND THE MEDIUM SHELL I JUST LIKE ITS TOUGHNESS!!
