bulhunk
I was reading about the coffee tubes from Strike King and was wondering if anybody has tried to pour their own coffee baits. The description of the bait says it is suppose to mask all human scent. I read the guy who won the FLW out in Arizona was using coffee tubes and I think he won by 16 pounds. Anybody. Pitbull Baits
I made my own coffee scent. I haven't put any ground up beans in yet. I think Lure Craft or Upper Hand Scent sells coffee scent. To be honest I haven't noticed more fish caught using coffee compared to craw or garlic. nova
In my opinion it's just the latest and greatest. As humans we are always looking for the newest thing and the competitive spirit forces us along that path. I can imagine in the caveman days someone came up with a new weapon and before you know it they all had one. It's no different today except that some "big" company will patent the thing; lol. All jokes aside; if someone came up with the idea that hotsauce worked for catching fish; coffee would fade in the distance. I remember when garlic was the big thing and out on the lake in a tourny that's all you could smell. Now it's going to smell like a coffee shop. Next year; who knows. www.novalures.com

We have used them side by side with other brands of similiar color. No detectable difference in fish catching. We bought them only because they were the only ones in the store that had the shade of GP we wanted. One improvement would be the scent you get on your hands doesn't taste as bad as garlic if it somehow gets transfered to your mouth.

TBaits
I have added fresh ground beans to my plastic and don't know that it catches more than the others without, but it does make for some neat looking specks in the plastic which are irregular in shape and size which is what nature kind of has anyway. Glitter is too uniform in shape to me and looks more "fake". I think a lot of things would work to help mask human odor, so this just happens to be one of them. I still use the coffee today in some of my baits.

To be honest I haven't noticed more fish caught using coffee compared to craw or garlic. I did the same. I took a coffee filter and put some "real" (not instant) coffee in it. Then I poured softner through it several times letting it filter through. I suppose I could have just put the coffee in the softner and then trough the filter. That would work as well. How did you make yours? www.novalures.com
