What To Use To Glue Eyes On Swimbaits

Recommended Posts

Nova its the 5 inch top pour swimbait from bob's. It does have a depressinos for the eyes.

Good. Heat a small amount of clear plastic.(I use a couple of tablespoons in a LC cup) The eyes I use I get from Lisa and Ed who sponsor here.

Once the plastic is ready I use a tableknife to dip a little plastic; then quickly I dab just a little on the eye depressions one at a time. As soon as you pull the knife out, press the eye into the plastic. Just repeat until all the eyes are in place. Now you're ready to pour.

The first few time can be a little slow; but you'll get better at it and it won't be so slow.

When the baits come out they are imbedded in the plastic. No glue neaded. Hope this helps. That's how the Gut-See Mino in the gallery is done.

If you clean the eye socket with alcohol (like an alcohol wipe) and then use your glue, I prefer Mend-It or the gel super glue, your eyes will stay. Just be sure to coat the inside and sides of socket with a thin layer.

PS You can always consider the "bar" eyes that can be pushed in from on side to the other also. Both eyes are connected and once you push in and add a drop of glue, you are set. They are expensive though.

Just another option.
