Uma62
Does any body know where I can find an open pour swimbait mold with hollow belly? I have found hollow belly molds and open pour. But not open pour with a hollow belly. If there is even such a mold out there.
Pitbull Baits
I have never seen one. I am sure you can modify a RTV one to do hollow bodys.

Vodkaman
Thanks, Iwas thinking that too.Or trying to make a POP mold.My pop molds just havent been to good. Maybe you should start a thread with pictures of your PoP molds and see if the membership can solve your problems and improve your technique. Are you talking about a hollow body like a tube, or a hook slot. A belly slot is very doable with PoP, it is just an insert. If I was to tackle the job, I would cut a trough and glue the insert in, then seal the mold. Dave
GB GONE
Yes, if you do a search Gary (longhorn) posted a picture of his RTV molds and they are open pour. He did as Dave is describing by slitting the molds and inserting a belly slot. These can be made from pop as well but it will be more difficult to add the belly slit after the molds are made compared to RTV. Jim

Uma62
Thanks to you all.I was talking about a hollow belly. Not just a hook slot. I have dipped hook slots and gotten hollow bellies.Just was not sure if that was the right way. I was looking for a open pour 2 piece mold. That made hollow bellies. If anyone sold them.I have found hollow belly mods. And top pour molds.Just not the two in combination. Smallie
Thanks to you all.I was talking about a hollow belly. Not just a hook slot. I was looking for a open pour 2 piece mold. That made hollow bellies. If anyone sold them.I have found hollow belly mods. And top pour molds.Just not the two in combination. From what I have seen, most if not all hollow belly baits seem to have a hook slot followed by a dip to seal it. Personally, I feel the hook slot without the dip is better so the bait will collapse more easily when the fish strikes. Bears baits has a mold they call hollow belly but it is a pretty flat looking "hollow". http://www.bearsbaits.com/Hollow-Body-Swim-Bait--45_p_26.html
longhorn
I agree with Smallie...I dip my swimbaits only to seal them...when I rig them I open the entire hook slot. Works better for me.
Vodkaman
It would be possible to build a one piece hollow swimbait mold. It would not be easy and you would still have to seal the tail end. Dave
Pitbull Baits
Nobody sells one that I know of. The hollow BELLY I assume he is talking about would be like a hollow BODY. So the hollow part would be lower then a normal hollow body. I think he means not forsue but thinking the rod basicly would go up the swimbaits butt not in the tail like the hollow body do.
