Slims
Hello to you all. I have just begun making my own baits. It is very rewarding and I enjoy it a lot. But, I am having an issue I cannot figure out. First I should say I am using m-f super soft and the 2.5 inch trout worm and curl tail molds from basstackle.com and a basstackle injector. Anyway, a lot of times after I inject the plastic, the tails of the trout worms and the grubs will be hallow, or have visible air bubbles. I assume they might be from stirring, but I always reheat after a stir to try to pop the bubbles. What else could be causing this? Is there some kind of remedy for it? Will I not have this issue if I use a harder plastic? Thanks for the help.

I noticed alot of bubbles in my dropshot worms when I would use a quick heavy hand while injecting. When I put on my kid gloves, the problem was drasticly reduced, but not eliminated entirely. For what I do, and how I do it, that's good enough...the fish won't care
Slims
Thanks for the suggestion. I will try slowing down. I only feel like its an issue on the worms I sell. I want them to be as close to perfect as possible.
toadfrog
When you fill your injector try turning it tip up . Gently give it some pressure until plastic oozes out. Then quickly place it in the port make one smooth stroke until you feel back pressure when the mold is full . Count to three before you move the injector from the mold. Should help. Deerak
I just started a few weeks ago and had the same issues. Before I go to inject, I fill the injector up a few times to heat it up and noticed that it was causing bubbles too. Before the last time I pull the plastic into the injector, I will stir the plastic a little with my injector. Once full, if I let out a little bit of plastic into the cup before I inject, it dramatically helps with the bubbles.
