OUTDOORSMAN
Found out where I bought my tubes the guy sold out and the new owner has totally screwed up the plastics. I was told the old owner used salt or something after puring the plsticsto make them softer. Is there a way to make already bought plastics softer??? Thanks
Pitbull Baits
I don't think there is any that will make them softer. I don't think the salt made them softer. You can use salt to make them not stick together in the bag.
jesse1378
you could boil them. or maybe get some softner from the bait pouring stores and put it in the bag and let it soak. it might work.
Richard Prager
I had some big worms that got deformed from sitting in bags too long all curled up. I put them in almost boiling water and laid them out straight. They stayed straight and were also a little softer. Might be worth a try. Boiling plastics can make them a lot softer. i bought 1000 of the big Stick O`s from bass Pro several years ago. I boil them at different stages. This is what i found. Bring your water to a hard boil. Boil 1 Min, just a little softer, but not much difference in action. 2 Min. now were talking a noticeable difference, but I wanted softer. Now I boiled them for 3 Minutes, Perfect Softnes for wacky riggin and Texas Riggin. I boiled them from 3 to 5 Min. not much difference. For me 3 minutes was just right. Now these are really big fat 7" baits, big as your little finger. Just let them rest overnight after boiling.
powerworm
the only bad thing with boiling salted baits is you lose the extra weight the salt gave you therefore they would become softer

Marks Lures
Found out where I bought my tubes the guy sold out and the new owner has totally screwed up the plastics. Thanks I depends on the plastic used, Take a couple throw them in a bag, add some glycerin, if the plastic is the right composition, it wll make them a little plump (not much at all) and a lot softer. Most chemicals etc. will make the soft plastic harder, oh yes can easily make your own hard nosed worms now, I soak my worm noses in WD40. for a night.
