Securing Presto Pot To Stand?

Recommended Posts

I just recently recieved my presto pot from bear and was wondering if anyone has a good method of securing the pot to the stand they use for pouring? I just would feel a lot more safe knowing that the pot full of hot plastic is secured to the stand that im using and is not gonna tip forward when i go to open or close the valve. Ive thought of possibly drilling through the feet of the pot and the top of the stand and screwing/bolting it down? I know theres gotta be someone on here thats got a great idea/soultion for this problem. Any advice is appreciated, and Thanks in advance.

Don't know what model you have but with mine I removed the handles and used all thread and nuts to hold it down it also works to hold down my stir motor.

Thanks Mrbilky. I got my pot from bears and have a mixer on the way from him that should be here on monday. Ill have to take a look at how the mixer is set up to fit the pot, but that just might work. Love your pouring station by the way...Best use of old furniture Ive seen...lol

I drilled 2 holes through the stand right behind the pot. I used 2 pieces of all-thread with an acorn nut and washer on one end. These go up through the holes and are held in place by a regular nut and washer on the top of the stand. The pot backs up against them and I have 2 small (3/4" I think) "L" brackets that slide down the all thread from the top and catch the lip of the pot. These are held down on the pot by wing nuts. With this setup I can remove my stirrer without having the pot unsecured. It also makes it so I can loosen the wing nuts if I want to slide a shim under the back feet to change the slope of the pot and then re-secure it..

Being a "furniture guy" I saw that right off...but also saw a nice piece of furniture being used. I have converted old dressers into bathroom vanities and just about anything you could think of...point is: a nice piece of furniture being USED instead of set out on the curb for the trash guy to smash!!
