mkvnmtr
Here in Mexico the only powder coating I have found is made by Du Pont. I beleive their brand is Alesta. I know I can import other brands from some of my state side suppliers but I want to buy in bulk and it will be much easier to have a local supplier. Does anyone have any experience using Du Pont powders? When I look at most of the powder sellers in the US I get the impression that much of it is repackaged in their brand name. No one seems to be making and selling their own product.
cadman
I have used many Dopunt powder paints and they are very high quality and excellent to use for jigs. You should have no problem with it. I have not used the Allesta brand but I have used many of the others. You will be very happy with it. Personaly I use very little Pro-Tec powder paints do to the extreme cost, which in my opinion is unwarranted. But then again that is my opinion. I have posted here a list of other powder companies out there that are excellent for jigs and cost less than 1/2 of Protec. To each his own. mkvnmtr
That is good to hear. It is really what I thought but I had never heard of Du Pont powder paint. I agree with you on the cost of Pro Tec and some others. Most Columbia Coating paints seem to be around $10 a pound. Besides I do not think I would have a use for two oz of paint. Thanks for the info.

mkvnmtr
Where can you order there Du Pont from. I can't find a site that is selling it. I found there site and seen the color they have.

I am looking for a local supplier. I have found that it Du Pont has distribution to Mexico and I have found a local paint shop that handles their products. My next step is to go to the shop and see if they can order paint for me. Powder paint is used in a factory setting so we do not think we will find someone here selling it but it is used a lot in Monterey. Thus I feel that someone dealing with Du Pont should have no trouble ordering it for me. I have found no one selling it on line. Remember I am in Mexico so ordering from the states if possible but takes longer to arrive. My Google search results are different from yours because I am in Mexico but I would assume the same will work for you . Find a local paint dealer that handles Du Pont and ask if they can order powder paint, I get the impression that a lot of their paint is packaged and sold for other brands.
