ifish
Hey Guys and Gals, I am looking for a 2 stranded stainless wire I can use in my Shakey Head molds. I do not like the screw locks so I am using a straight wire instead. The wire I am using is spring wire and it breaks easily . PJ Bass Extractor Jigs has copied my idea without my permission after I showed it to a local guide that showed it to them.Imagine that ! The wire they use is what I am trying to find. It looks like a 2 wire twisted stainless weed guard. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks....Ifish Edited May 2, 2011 by ifish

I know, it really sucks, but this is how it works in the real world. On the first page of the unread posts list, at the moment there are six KO related posts and one original work. Actually, the original work is very unusual, believe me, the ratio is NOT 6:1. I cannot help you with your wire search, I just wanted to offer my commiserations on the idea being stolen. Best advice is to treat it as a complement and be more careful with the next idea. Good luck. Dave

Google haywire twist and you should come up with some ideas. There are tools to do the twisting but with that light of wire a washer with a slot cut out should work fine. You will be left with a loop on one end and the double wire twist to the length you want. There are two features of the haywire knot. The first part is when you rotate both wires at the same time. The second is when you rotate the one wire around the other. Each will work for you purpose. I hope this helps.
ifish
Hey VodkaMan, I am not pissed at them. That is what the tackle industry does. Take ideas and sell them to people like me.I am into fishing and making lures for fun and I am not going to make my fun into work.I was told by a person in the biz that this would happen and it is kind of a bassakward compliment. Thanks for your comments! Atijigs, I have tried twisting the wires like you mentioned and the results kinda sucks. I have been all over the internet trying to find something close and the search goes on.Thanks for your suggestion!

It is the least that they could do for you, Dave
archeryrob
I am not pissed at them. That is what the tackle industry does. Take ideas and sell them to people like me. You might be surprised, but I bet the guide sold it as his idea to the jig company. I am not a betting man and I would place that bet!. SOME, had to clarify this here, Guides and Pro-staffer for fishing and hunting can be some of the most self promoting people I have ever seen. Some of them seem willing to about sell their soul to make it in a magazine or to carry favor with a manufacturer. I'd be pretty sure it's the guide that sold your idea out and probably sold it as their own idea, and not the manufacturer. Many guides give the good ones a bad name. I know some really good guides in the fishing and hunting industries. I also know of some I wish would just quit as they are bad for the industry. {Question} am I still in approval? It says I can make 24 more posts until tomorrow? Is that a daily limit? Or a first time limit?

ifish
Archeryrob, You are closer to the truth than you know. Smokey, I thought it was some kind of cable myself but I can't find any 2 stranded cable anywhere. Thanks!

Smokey, I thought it was some kind of cable myself but I can't find any 2 stranded cable anywhere. Thanks! Well, that aircraft cable isn't two strand, its seven, but I don't think what they are using is two strand. It's hard to tell from the pictures on the website. I don't know if anyone makes two strand cable. I could be completely wrong, though, so take my suggestion with a grain of salt.
