knifemaker3
Hello again all! It's been at least 5-6 years since I've posted on here.. I'm sure nobody will remember me as I wasn't very active back then. I now own and operate a small sporting goods store and of course I carry fishing supplies. Now, for the question. I still have some M&F soft plastic left over from when I use to pour years ago. I've shook the dickens out of the jug and still haven't got all the hardener out of the bottom of the jug. I plan to get a dowel rod to get it off the bottom. My question is.......will it still be good after such a long time or should I just pitch it and buy fresh? Thanks! I intend to start selling custom baits again in my store and don't want crappy baits made from outdated plastisol...... So much has changed! I've been reading for 2 days on all the new stuff in luremaking now. The injection molds look really great. Hope to get into that soon! OK, I'll shut up now. Thanks again! powerworm
it will be fine if you have another jug to put it in pour out what you can then cut the old jug in half and scrape out all the hardener thats packed on the bottom then stir it really good and shake the heck out of it and you will be fine!! toadfrog
It will work for colored lures but if you try to pour clear it will have a yellowish tint . Plastic will degrade ever so slightly each month you have it . That is what will cause the off clear.
