plbass
Looking for a 1/8 oz. shakey head mold. Is there a production mold available? A mold that would take a 4/0 hook.
smalljaw
The Do-it shakey head mold should work, it calls for a 3/0 hook for the 1/8oz cavity a lot of their molds will let you move up or down a size from the recommended hook size. I make a 1/8oz football shakey head using the football jig mold that takes the flat eye hooks and I have made quite a few with a 4/0 hook even though the mold calls for a 3/0 hook for that cavity. Cadman shuld be able to let you know, I'm pretty sure he has that mold.
Ogajiga
I don't bass fish, so don't use shakeys, but on appearance it would seem a round ball head would compromise the upright standing bait by rolling sideways? Seems like a football head would be a better head for shakeys?
plbass
Can a production mold be made of all the same size jig?
plbass
Who makes one?
Madbasser
You can use a Do-It production mold with the barb collar and a heavy hook. They used to make one that would use the EC 635 2/0 hook witch is basically the same size as a Gammy 604 4/0 hook. These were made with straight eyes, so if you want a flat eye model you will just have to modify it. Not sure if they offer these anymore in their catalog. These molds can be found on eBay every now and then. I think the heavy hook models start with JRS then a 6 for the number of cavities and finally a 14 for 1/4oz size. Not totally sure, i bet Cadman will chime in. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
Madbasser
http://do-itmolds.co...ry&path=1_7_212 One like this looks promising. Use this one : PRO-104 SERIES - PRO-104 RHSBARB 1/4 You should be able to fit a 4/0 Gammy 604 or Mustad equivalent without much trouble. http://do-itmolds.com/shop/index.php?route=product/category&path=1_7_213 This one has a different keeper but you can fit a much larger hook on the 1/4oz model without mods. PRO-106 SERIES - PRO-106 JRS R&B 1/4 Edited June 17, 2011 by Madbasser
plbass
Sounds interesting. I was thinking if they had a mold without the barb and maybe modify for the screw lock.

Madbasser
Ooops I just noticed u wanted a 1/8th and not a 1/4th lol. Well u get the pic. Do-it does have a screw lock round ball no collar shakey head mold but not in a production modle.
smalljaw
I hate to tell you this but in order to get a pure production mold for a shakey head you'll need some cash to get a custom one made and based on past experience it isn't going to be cheap.
