Cormorant Lures
I have purchased LC "Lunker Lotion" for scenting my baits... My question is this: Do I still need to use worm oil when putting my worms in plastic bags or will the scent do the trick?!? Can I use a generic household substitute like olive or vegetable oil?!? I have read that your baits will stick together in the bag so I am trying to avoid this from happening... Thanks!!!
Cormorant Lures
Another question: When de-molding, do you just lay your baits on like a cookie sheet or put them in water?!? I have heard people say you should wait 24 hours before bagging. When pouring worms into an aluminum 2-piece mold, do you have to use some form of oil for de-molding purposes?!? Sorry for all the questions... I haven't started pouring yet but I want to make sure I have the knowledge going into my first pour... Thanks!!! vapermedic
If you're adding the scent to your plastic while cooking it you'll want to add a little worm oil or scent to your bag if you want them slimy looking but they really don't "stick" together and this is clearly personal preference. When de-molding you don't need anything special to accomplish this...they pull out easily and no oil or spray is needed on the mold. It depends on what I'm pouring as to how I handle them. For stick baits I just lay them flat/straight on my bench and bag them the next day. For some of the craws, grubs, etc I throw them in a big bowl of cool water. What you want to avoid is having the bait cool/cure in a distorted shape. If you bag up some warm stickbaits as a jumbled mess...they're gonna cure that shape. nedyarb
I simply let the sticks cool for a few hours, spray a bag with a little spray canola oil, and put a few drops of bears scents and lay the sticks flat.
