navarre66
Hey guys, I've been following the conversations about spike-it plastic and wondering should I switch from LC. The price for spike-it is unreal but the the problems that have been posted have made me step back from purchasing. I have about 12 POP molds, 5 RTv and just purchased 2 injection molds with 4 more on the way. I may pour about 2 1/2 gallons a year (personal use only). Do you think it would be wise to switch and if I do what kind do you reconmmend. I know in the end this is my choice but some insight from more experienced pourers would be very helpful. Some love it and some hate it. I would say to contact them and request a small sample and see how it works for you. I'm glad I did before ordering a larger quantity. It just didn't work for me. bass2805
i use spike it. works very well for me, its a little dif on making like a clear color and you'll have to change your drops per oz of plast. but other then that cant beat it for the price

I have used LC since I have started pouring 2 years....I have a bunch of RTV molds from LC,,,6 stick molds injection from DELWS..I use about 15 gals a year. Its not alot compared to some but I only have my stuff in 2 stores...I bought 5 gals of each soft and hard pourasol from Spikeit.... I have posted my results in that super long thread that was going...I dont pour from pyrex, I use Lee pots...So the bubble issue goes a way as it sits in the pots for a bit. I have not tried it with my injection stick baits yet... It does smell different than LC..reminds me a plastic worms when I was a kid.. The soft is really really really soft compared to the LC 536. The hard in softer than LC 500. So I used a mix of soft and hard like 75% to 25% soft to hard for my freshwater stuff and my saltwater stuff I am just getting to with the same ratio but hard to soft... I might try and go less soft but we'll see. The price is good, but if you are only using 2.5 gals in a year and if you are selling your stuff. You are talking pennies for each bait in savings...They will send you a free sample as some have gotten on here. If you have any questions please ask. Good luck, Cliff
