pabassman
Hello. I'm new to the site. I've checked it out many times but this is my first post. I have a question about powder painting heads with recessed eyes. Do you need to clean out the eye socket before installing a stick in 3D eye? dlaery
Normally no. You might have to use some glue to help hold the eye on baked powder paint.
cadman
No like mentioned above. Youcan stick on the eye and then clearcoat the whole bait or glue on the eye. Your choice. Edited June 23, 2011 by cadman

LedHed
The recessed eyes should be fine as long as you don't apply too much paint. Normally I clearcoat at least twice to keep the 3D & 2D eyes on.

GeorgiaBlade
Since backed Powder paint is very slick (slippery) the glue of stick-on eyes will not adhere very long after it becomes wet. For yeas now, I have been using an electric eraser to burnish (rough-up) the Powder paint in the recessed eye sockets. This allows the glue of the stick-on eyes to adhere much better and last much, much longer. Just a thought. Later--GeorgiaBlade
