Hi everyone, I am totally new, even the idea of making some of my own lures is new. I have never tried before but am even more determined to do so after seeing some of the very good creations on this website. I live in australia and finding "kits" etc is difficult. I would like to start by making some soft plastic lures. When I have an idea and some experience I would like to make some lures similar to the Jackall bros tranzam 95s. I am also interested in making vibe blades but i guess for now i should concentrate on one thing. can anyone suggest what i should buy to kick start my lure making. I would also like to know where I can buythe things i need? Thanks in advance

Contact some of the companies in the states who offer "kits". Ask them if they will send by post. I know it drives up the cost a bit, but an international flat rate box is pretty quick. I recently did some checking on this topic regarding a transaction, and from what I have read you should pay no special customs fees on orders under a $1000A if you can show invoices to prove it. Paypal invoices are specifically mentioned on the Australian Customs website. From what I read it looks like (you should check yourself) that they notify you of the shipment. You email or mail (after they notify you) the pertinent data and they release your shipment for delivery. Maybe not as quick as you might hope, but it doesn't sound all that bad either.

Hi Bob, thanks for the reply. I think you are on the money there. I have contacted chemical suppliers here but they have no info other than this product does what you want? I will try to find a company that does plastisol along with the acompanying hardeners colouring agents and moulds. If i can get it I guess that will give me something to work on. Importing things hasn't been a problem for me..yet, altough I did hear the USA have some strict rules about substances like the ones I am after. I might try the darhlberg fella..see what he has. Hey Bill, If i get somewhere I'll keep you posted. I know two guys who professionally build Lures (SP's) but they shy away when I ask them about lure building, i guess mainly coz I buy their stock for my shop? LOL
