Jigsisme
When making a "homemade" mold, do I pull the weedguard out? If so what do I place in there when forming the mold? Rookie questions I know, but I appreciate the help.
cadman
If you are going to use a weedguard in your production later, and glue them in then this is what I would do. Take a 1/8" steel rod, dowel, drill bit or whatever and put that in the mold where you want your weedguard to be. Then let your mold halves harden. Or once the mold halves are hard, I assume you will pin them somehow to keep them aligned, you can clamp the two halves together and then drill a hole in the middle of both halves. I would do this in a vice and a drill press for accuracy. Finally you don't have to use an 1/8" diameter dowel, if you want to use a smaller weedguard, adjust your dowel to the size of weedgurad you want to put in. This will give you all the custom look you want. Maybe others have a better thought on this. You didn't say what you are going to make the mold out of. I am answering based on the fact that you will be using, bondo, POP or Durham's water putty.
