saltshaker
for askin' so many questions. Just one more? If I were gonna paint a fishing reel.....is this Createx paint gonna be ok with adequate clear coating? With what little painting I've done with my airbrush, I fully realize the importance of clear coating. This paint is very delicate without it. Appears to me if it holds up on baits...it should be alright on a reel. Any guidance? Thanks Stan

Their might be more folks that paint reels there with createx and can give you specific results. Good luck. John
BobP
I painted one reel and gave it up as wasted effort. I used aerosol automotive primer, paint, and clearcoat and baked the coatings. You have to be very precise in masking areas on the reel frame that don't get painted if you want the reel to go back together. And it began chipping almost immediately after I started using the reel again. If I were to do it again (I won't!), I'd be using Dick Nite S81 or a good 2 part auto clear. But I doubt any home paint process will be as durable as a factory finish.
