I wouldn't open in an enclosed area where you will spend any time at all. Put on a mask and make sure you're upwind, open the container and pour some plastisol into the container and lid it up. Open it again awhile later and add more plastisol if you can. The plastisol will keep it from going airborne while you're in your pouring area. Del use to offer it this way, but I believed he stopped due to the hazards of the material. You'll also have to stir alot, to get it mixed throughout, while you're heating.

Wear a dust mask for sure. Move slowly. Be careful removing the lid, don't just rip the lid off or you'll be cleaning up for days.

And move slowly.

Try to avoid sneezing.

make sure you use extra color, the floater bubbles take away from the color and make it pasty looking

If you're trying to make the bait actually float a hook (like a Hi-floating Ribbit from Stanley) you have to mix at 1:1 ratio. It will make the plastic stiffer, and kill off some of the action. Durability of the bait also comes into question when mixing 1:1.
