tupong
After reading a few posts about venting fumes and how everyone is doing it I was wondering if any one is filtering the exhaust fumes when venting them outside? I ask beacasue i've just built a new shed and am in the process of building a system to vent the fumes but have a vegtable garden close to the shed and dont wish to contaminate the veggie patch. I was thinking a cloth flilter made of cotton may be enough, but would appreciate some other opions. regards mick

I would just run the stack from the exhaust system as high as possible, and let the wind carry it away. It's not somthing that I would be that concerned about. Depending on how old your house is and it's proximity to the house, I may be more concerned with lead contamination. Just a thought I considered when putting in my garden at my own home, built in '56.
gone2long
That's a good point Mick I really never thought of it after it leaves the vent would like to hear the comments on this one I do know that it will produce some oily solids on the filter media in my vent but that's over a long period. bojon
I vented to the outside from my garage to my carport window, this removed the fumes, but left a film om my truck. This is the stuff we want to get rid of.I reworked my venting system, using a box type hood, and passing the fumes thru a activated charcol pad type filter of my own making. This worked great, and it was still working up to the time I left Alabama.I was worried I would have to change the charcol often, but it was good after many hours of use.The end vent was a flexable dryer hose with the end cap facing up.No problems, because the carport had a roof, but open sides. powerworm
the film it left was more than likely just heat stabilizer it washes right off and it will clean the plastic residue off of your molds as well

bojon
will also dissolve certain types of paint, strip the colour off the countertop etc I think that this may coat our lungs as well.It did come right off the truck in a car wash, but the lungs would be tougher to clean.A good thing to remember is to use plenty of ventilation.
