Buzz Bait Frames

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys, I have a customer who would like a special type of buzz bait head. He showed me one of his older baits and the head of the buzz bait is shaped like the body of a frog. It has small eyes moulded into the body and the part of the body in front of the skirt is 7/16" long and 3/8" wide. The weight is 1/4 oz. Does anyone here make this style body or know where I can get them? This customer says he can turn over all I am able to supply. Thanks, Joe

Good advise as usual PaBasser...I am ultra-cautious myself though...I would test that "he can turn over all I am able to supply" statement by producing several dozen copies myself before going all out, then use any profit from the sale of those toward machining a production mold...you can make a mold from bondo, putty, or such in your garage, kitchen, etc to easily produce a starter batch to sample the market and have some masters for your machinist to work with...you may want to go to 3/8's before then too. Sounds like a neat lure...post some pics when you get the kinks worked out, tight lines, JIM

Sounds like an okiebug head. I have some here, Okiebugtom on ebay... maybe check there and see.

I have some 1/2 oz. here that might be what you are looking for, but they are not mine, I am just painting them for one of my "clients" Tom sold some of the molds for those baits, not sure if he still makes them or not.

send a picture or 2 to me if possible to ctopher76@charter.net, I will verify them if you want.

Chris
