RAWJigs
So I have a bad problem. I have a Lee bottom pour IV, the 10 pound pot. All of the sudden it just flys out and I dont get a good pour, maybe 2 outta 10. It has a slow drip which I find is common. I have always used the setting on 10 and never had a problem. I tried to start low and build my way up and it just flys out of the bottom all of the sudden. Any suggestions before I pack this thing up and send it to Lee to work on it for me. Jig Man
If flying out the bottom means you can't shut it off then you have something blocking the plunger from returning to it spot. I use two methods for temporary fix for drips and/or blockage: 1. run a wire like a spinnerbait wire up the hole with the plunger opened, 2. heat the tip with a propane torch then open it up and let it flow for a few seconds. It those fail, I empty and clean everthing. Then I remelt the lead and flux real good.
RAWJigs
I can shut it off, It seems to be from some research that the plunger needs to be reseated. That and the plunger is falling backwards on the handle so when it leaks after that, i take my pliers and move it back in place. From what I read on the Lee production site, it seems to be I might need to melt the lead again and take a screwdriver and reseat the plunger. It literary looks like when I pour that the lead is shooting up and I don't get a complete pour on my collar and trailer holder, guessing because it is pouring so dang fast. Could it be that the plunger isn't seated so the spout is more open then usual?

bass100
Like you said just reseat the plunger. It says it on their website and in the directions you get with the pot, that is why the plunger has a slot in it so you can turn it back and forth with a screwdriver. It has to be done frequently but only takes a second. As far as the fast flow, don't pull the handle all the way open and you can control the flow, this can be difficult sometimes, or just fill the pot halfway with lead and the flow will slow down. RAWJigs
Hey guys thanks for the responses. It was the plunger, after I set it back the flow went back to normal and the pouring went back to normal. I also fluxed, I wish I could have found some parafin wax tonight, but I had to go to a stick candle from wal mart ... I wanna order some of that marvelux. Thanks again guys!
