EvinrudeAggie
Hi everyone, Newb to pouring here. I have been using LC Maximum Flexibility plastic and have liked it but I am curious about Spike It's Ultrasol Medium and Soft. I have seen a lot about the Pourasol but was wondering if anyone has any experience with Ultrasol. I do both hand pouring and hand injection. Thanks for any help and love all the information you guys provide on the forum here.
powerworm
i used to use their de-aired super soft and medium from bear; but have been using their ultrasol medium with a 1/4 cup softener per gallon and i find it too be great in texture no bubbles and no residual smell. if you have felt any of berkleys havoc pit boss baits thats the exact feel this formula i make is like. EvinrudeAggie
Well I poured my first baits with the Ultrasol Soft last night and must say I was disappointed. I was hoping the bubble problem wouldn't be as bad as with the Pourasol I heard about, but the micro bubbles were terrible. I was only able to eliminate the majority of them by heating extremely slowly and stirring much less as compared to LC Maximum Flex. I still ended up with a couple bubbles per bait no matter what I did. I am using a hotplate with aluminum cups but this stuff bubbles like crazy. I already order new plastisol from Lurecraft and will be sticking with it from now on. The only credit I can give the Ultrasol is that it pours very easy and cleans up very easy, other than that I am definitely not pleased with it. powerworm
ultrasol is made to be used at lower temps if you over heat it ANY plastisol will bubble i really wouldnt think this would be a first choice for microwave use. i strictly use presto pots except for remelts and i like it for that use.
