Dual Injector W/multi Cavity Mold

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys, I was wondering if you can use Bear twin Injector to pour into multi-cavity mold. I'm trying to make my own red shad (black grape on the top and liver on the bottom), I've seen it used on single cavity molds but never on multi units. I was hoping I didn't have to hand pour the top then inject the bottom. Thnx NAV.

Thanks Frank, checked out your vid on you tube. You make it look very easy. I will be using an 8" forktail from Del. By the way I was incorrect when I said I would be using Bears injector, I will be buying the one from Basstackle. @SHK--- thanks for the response, I wanted something just a little different and I thought black grape would stand out a little more. Liver is a color I came up with when I first started pouring about a year ago it was going to be blue fleck but I was a little off. But i thougtht the color would be good on the Potomac, so I tried it out and now I throw it alot 8O

Hey Frank, Here is a pic of the 8" forktail, tried to pour by hand but it looked pretty bad so I just poured both colors. Oh yeah, about the split tail are you saying that each fork will have a different color or will both forks split the two colors.

Just received my twin-injector (3 days from AZ to MD plus free shipping). The unit seems to be a bit sluggish do I need to grease it or I/m I doing something wrong. If it is grease what type do I use. BTW worm came out great. No pics my camera to a powder on me yesterday while fishing.

Oops, Almost forgot, when using laminate is there a ratio for the colors, Some of my color seem to dominate the other (watermelon on top, amber brown on the bottom). The watermelon seems to be more pronounced than the amber. I will be using these colrs for my Camo. will place in the colorbook when it is spot on.. So should I make the the amber darker? or the watermelon lighter.

Yes when you laminate you will have to adjust the colors to get the look you want. I have alot of colors that look good only when they are a laminate. Seperatly they are not so hot. The Twinjector in the beginning will need to be say loose. I know it sound funny but loosen the top bar a bit and the caps on the top. Try and avoid tightening it to much. This is just temporary as you use the unit it will smooth out. Aliminium has the tendancy to be sticky when used like that. You can use a couple of drops of worm oil for now but it goes away when you fill it for the first time. I have alot of miles on mine and dont know what I would do without it. Cant wait to see some pics. Frank

The subject was on a multicavity mold. A single cavity will work by turning the block, even on a 90deg port mold. The multicavity mold has to be designed so it will seperate the top from the bottom. There are alot of fish molds out there that will laminate but they are designed like I said. Frank
