How To Deal With Dents In Knock Offs?

I have been ordering blank K.O.s to practice my painting skills, was hoping to get some advice on dents and tool marks. Tried doing a thin coat of etex and throw it on the turner, took the dents out and gave it a very nice and smooth finish, and then I realized the eye sockets had leveled out as well :*( Thought about it and I can't really put the eyes in and then the etex, it would be a PITA to mask the eyes off while under epoxy. And I'm worried if I paint it first then the dents will show through the paint even after the topcoat, slap me with some words of wisdom TU!

Try an auto body filler in a tube, can be applied to a small area, let dry and sands easily. NAPA sells it, don't remember the brand name. Musky Glenn

Try heating the bait with a heat gun then drop it in cold water worked for me. The trick is heating the air inside and geting it to expand and pushing the dents out then cool the hot pliable plastic and make it ridged before the air inside cools and condenses and creating a vacuum and suck the dent back in.

Or you could buy some timber filler, water based, smear it on rough, wait for it to dry and try some 400 grit paper and smooth it back.

Orrrrrrrrrr you can do as you're doing and just dremel out the eye sockets with a flat deburring bit. Very easy to do.

A lot of factory baits contain dents, Even some of the more expensive cranks. Don't sweat it just paint and clear. The epoxy wil still give ya a smooth finish.
