crzyjunyer Posted October 4, 2011 Report Share Posted October 4, 2011 i know this is a lil off topic for here but so many folks i know who fish also hunt as well. i have been approached by one of my coworkers about possibly painting a camo pattern on his guns for him. He has tried re-blueing them before but it doesnt seem to last as well as he wants a dull/camo finish on them. i feel like probably the auto-air line from createx would be best since its a urathane base and made for cars and then using a matte finsh automotive clear for a top/seal coat. i was wondering if anyone else on here has tried this as well and if so do you have any tips or advice to share? thanks junyer Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
knifemaker3 Posted October 4, 2011 Report Share Posted October 4, 2011 Dura coat it. It's made for guns and is very tough. Grizzly sell it, Brownells also. Midway USA may. If not, pm me and I'll help you find it. They also sell camo templated kits as well. Best to use what is made for the product. Dura coat fits that bill very very well. Good Luck! knifemaker3 Posted October 4, 2011 Report Share Posted October 4, 2011 Another option I forgot about which is what I believe powerworm is refering too. Around here they call it hydro coating. Basically they can take any picture of anything and electroplate it or something to the guns. You can get some really cool effects with it. Costly though.......
