Hooklineandsinker
I have been painting crankbaits for about a year now and I still can't get the fine detail lines I see on so many baits. I have tried cutting back the PSI to 10 - 15, but I still am getting too strong and too wide a line (for instance when I'm painting side bar lines). I use Createx paints and a Paasche dual action with #1 needle and tip. Any suggestions?.
RayburnGuy
Try thinning your paint until it will spray with 5 psi or even less. You'll have to get your airbrush up close to your work and be careful if you take the needle cap off to get in really close. Needles tips are extremely easy to bend. And from looking at the job you did on that bait I wouldn't worry too much about getting more detail. Looks good to me. Richard Prager
Nice job on that bait! If you want narrower lines than what's on your bait you can try shooting though a comb.
