SpyderMike
Hello all, just joined the forum and am new to pouring. I was wondering if anyone had any info on a source for a higher quality line grip swivel to use with the finesse drop shot do-it mold? The do-it swivels (or at least what everyone carried) that I bought had almost 20% defective pieces. Some were bent, some wouldn't spin, but most would cut my 6lb line like scissors even when wetted. I know better quality parts are made cause I've used the on weights I've bought. I just can't seem to find any. Mold modification is not an issue. I work in a tool room Thanks in advance for any replies! Glad I found this forum

Munkin
There is another company that sells swivels similar in design to the Do-It ones. Unfortunately I was infected with a hijack virus so my favorites link was lost. What I do remember is there was a company that made these where they had two cylinder rolling sections. The link was one that someone posted here on TU as a supplier for swivels, etc. but it was a Non-US company. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I will look around to some more. Fatman
spydermike Here's the link for the swivels munkin was talking about http://www.roscoinc.com/imported_line_lock_swivels.html now that I see what the swivels are I could probably mod one of my sinker molds and not have to buy a new mold. Ogajiga
The Romar line locks distributed by Rosco are the import barrel type with wire wrap eyes, quite different from the crane style designed for Do-it Drop Shot molds. The #8 Romars are castable in a Do-it Bass Casting Sinker mold designed for #7 barrel swivels. The Romar line lock arms will crunch fit in the eye sockets, but pour OK. Because the #8s are smaller than #7s, there might be a bit of melt bleed into the swivel which isn't a problem WITH THE MOLD I HAVE- others of the same model might pour differently. Rosco has a rather high minimum order on the Romars, so if you want to try a few email me. hawnjigs@yahoo.com
Ogajiga
A major advantage of Romar swiveled Bass Casting sinkers is spin on both sides of the barrel, compared to the Do-it line locks which bury half the swivel in the Drop Shot sinkers. Quality of the latest batch of Romars I bought this year has slipped somewhat - the line pinch arm isn't as evenly formed as previous, but the barrel spin is still IMO noticeably smoother than cranes. Dink Master
Also looking for better Drop Shot Swivels? Like the following pictures.
Munkin
Also looking for better Drop Shot Swivels? Like the following pictures. Those are the ones I was talking about and I forgot about the ones Fatman posted. The same company that makes those swivels also makes one with dual barrels that I was wanting to try. Ogajiga
The pictured sinkers appear to be machine cast judging by the small inlet gate breaks and hard alloys. Excellent CUSTOM designs so I would guess the swivels are a custom run & I've not seen them available for public purchase.
