Clint M
Hey guys and gals. I am looking for a plastic that will pour and form hard. I want the end result to be a hard surface. Not making worms im making more of a crankbait body. Can you buy pvc that pours in a mold?
timturr
Check out this website. http://www.alumilite.com I have purchased some of the white and it is very easy to use. Just pour out equall amounts mix and pour into mold. In 5 minutes you have a replica of whatever you poured it into. The clear may work better for you. There are some videos to watch also to explain how to.

Munkin
Alumilite works great but if you want it to float you have to add microballoons. This is what I use to pour RC 1.5 bodies and it works well but they are tricky to ballast. Allen

RayburnGuy
I think I remember reading on the Alabama Rig website that the whole thing only weighs 3/8 of an ounce Clint. With all the wire, swivels, body, etc. it doesn't sound like they're using any ballast. Pretty sure that the way depth is controlled by counting the lure down and how fast it sinks is left up to what size and type of lures you use. Just read another article at Bassmaster.com about Paul Elias using this rig and it showed a picture of one of the ways he was fishing it. He had attached lead heads and rigging them with soft swimbaits. If it didn't sink fast enough just go with bigger lead heads.
