Guest Gangel
I've had an idea for a while, going to throw it out here. I've watched the forums on a few different sites for a while, you already have something like this. I want to try a lot of different things. I want to try green hooks, yellow hooks, all the manufacturers of hooks, different blades, different bodies, everything new, everything old. But, as most of you know... It's hard to buy just 5, 10, 15 of something, and stay under 5 bucks.... I'm looking at starting something where people buy shares in something... 2 bucks a month, gets you one share of something 1 buck for the items, 1 buck for envelope and postage. Some months might get you a lure body, other months might get you 100 1/0 570 hooks in red. But as much as I pay attention to all these sites, I know I'm missing stuff, like troka? hooks? Never heard of them, never seen them. On the other hand of this, if someone who's making ice jigs, floats, spinners, wants their name out there... They set up that months, or send an allotment to who ever is running the show for this at that time. Also, if we happen onto something that is such a screaming deal it can't be passed up... A person could buy more shares that month, or run all year long with more shares.... It would almost have to have some commitment, so that a decent size lot could be found. As an example, I have found someone who is selling 100 plastic clamshells. 100 for 14.00 bucks. 4 inch by 4 3/4 inches. I would love to see what these look like/are, but I'm not going to waste 14 bucks on 100 of them. I get 10 people who'd love to check these out too, and I might get me down to 3-4 bucks just for the 100 I want... which I can justify. I'm willing to take the hits on this, I just have so much now that I don't want to add too much to it, but I don't want to miss out. Also, ask me about a homemade small maker page by state I'm thinking about. I'm still debating that.
Guest Gangel
Suppose to be "10" of the item I want, not the full 100. Is there an edit option on here?
bassrecord
Don't know how shipping and packaging fits your model but you should take into consideration that the Post Office will be increasing their prices next April. When they do UPS then FedX, DHL and others will follow. I ordered 3 special drill bits last week (3.95+4.10+4.10 = $12.15 total) and the supplier charged me $9.00 shipping and handling + $15.00 distributor shipping and handling or $24.00 total shipping for 3 bits which could have been mailed! Won't buy from that bunch again!!! Good luck on your idea! \John
Guest Gangel
I thought about that. I'm thinking 10-20 cents for an envelope, 50-100 for postage, which would 70 to 140 for product. This isn't/wasn't meant to be a "great" deal, as much as it would be a "sample" service. And maybe even a little "once a month Xmas". I'm not sure what direction to send this in. I guess I do have kind of an "ulterior" motive in all this, but that's a different direction.
