Little man baits
Hi guys I was wondering how I go about making a transparent color like a smoke or anything else. I am talking about stick baits as well.
gone2long
Well this one is easy colorants come in transparent colors smoke is simply black colorant in a low volume check lurecraft or bearsbaits website they have color charts showing their colors you will need ultra fine salt and use less of as salt will make transparent colors opaque. SHK
you will need ultra fine salt and use less of as salt will make transparent colors opaque. finer salt will cloud your baits faster than reg salt
TBaits
Yep, for those I use regular NON-IODIZED table salt.
mark poulson
Does the "non-iodized" make a big difference? Is it more transparent?
Bass-Boys
For smoke color.. add just one drop of black to plastic check to see if it is good if not add 1 more drop and so on. you can do the same with watermelon and pumpkin and most any color. gone2long
I should clarify yes the above statements are true as it comes to adding salt I personally don't like large crystal salt as I feel it weakens the bait and is more prone to settle giving uneven results I do not pour sticks with the common ratio of 1, 1/2, 1/4 salt to plastic I only add small amount in tablespoons based on the color I'm working with.
