Oldfart9999
Cadman sent me some base pins that he uses, they are nylon, frankly, I love them. The nylon pins can be pulled out with your fingers, you don't need pliers and they seem to last. I wanted base pins for my weedless ballhead mold, I tried drill bits but they are too long and interfere with the jig next to them. I did a check at work and found I could buy 5/64 tool steel rods inexpensivly so I bought a 3 foot piece, cut it into 1 inch lengths, deburred the ends and tried them, they work very well and pull out easily. FuzzyGrub
Nylon works great in the powder paint and the mold. I'd think steel pins would build up too much paint and harder to remove than on the nylon ones. Anyway, I'm very happy with Ted's pins, and won't be switching. jigtier
16 penny galvanised nails when cut into pieces work very well. A little lubricant on them and the pull free fairly easy. But they need to be recoated every few jigs. A good pliers and a firm grip work well. -Paul
