KickerWormz
I was just reading some old topics on plastic mold sealers; like modpodge (spelling). I make my own plaster molds and use Elmers Concrete Bond. Elmers Concrete bond is a lot more durable then the modpodge with less peeling over time. It takes heat well and also has a blue-grey finish when cured. One to three coats with a good quality bristol brush will do the trick with minimal brush marks. You can also bake it in your oven for about 3 hours or so at about 170 to 200 degrees to cure. Good luck and good fishing.
basskat
Do the plastics come out nice and shinny or dull?
KickerWormz
The plastic comes out shiny, and salt doesnt even effect the mold like silicone molds, its pretty neat....and inexpensive..
nova
I use a product called "Seal-all". It's made in the US so I assume it's available down there. You have to thin it down with acetone to a watery state. Then you brush it on the plaster. You have to do 3 or 4 coats. It dosen't effect the detail as the first coat just soaks right in. Seal-all is impervious to gasoline once it cures (I've used it to fix carberators). It works just fine on the molds. I've poured several hundred baits in it with no effect on it. Stays glossy too. Just remeber to mix this stuff with ventilation.
Fish_N_Fool
I don't bother with plaster molds any more, Durham's water putty is far, far superior in all ways. And if you drop a mold it will stay in one piece most of the time.
