haxx5300
Hi guys. I am looking for advice regarding a decent compressor that will work nicely with one of TJ's Tackle air brush guns. Basically wondering what kind of specs I should be looking for to support this gun and be problem free. I know on his site they say it will run on 2-8 psi and 1cfm but everything I find is under 1 cfm. Even the $1000 ones. Would love to keep the cost down as much as possible right now considering I'm just beginning to dabble with this but still don't want total low end. Will the gun operate correctly as long as the psi is between 2-8 lbs and the cfm is below 1?? Any help would be appreciated.
Oldfart9999
I don't paint but I don't see why you couldn't use a compresser from Home Depot or Lowes for a nail gun, they come with a regulator and are well within your budget. smalljaw
I hav a small Force oilless compressor that is 110v and has a 2 gal tank that works great and it was only like 80 or 90 dollars. It came with the regulator so I didn't need anything else and it will last as long as you drain the air when you're done using it and leave the drain petcock open so moisture doesn't build up. Do not try to use the small aquarium compressors, they are too small but an electric maintainence free 110v home compressor is perfectly fine. Here is one that should work fine.......http://www.harborfreight.com/air-tools/oilless-compressors/1-3-hp-3-gallon-100-psi-oilless-air-compressor-97080.html Edited December 31, 2011 by smalljaw

Is somebody could recommend a smallest and less noisy compressor for airbrushing? My environment (cat, wife and neighbors) cannot bear a loud noise.
