cadman
205pro welcome to TU. I have tried hot glue and it does not work. After the glue dried and hardened, I put a jig in a glass of water, for 24 hours took the jig out yanked on the weedguards and they came out. That was the end of that experiment. I use two things currently for gluing in my weedguards. When I don't epoxy my jigs I use Loc-Tite gel super glue. When I epoxy my jigs I use (Devcon 2 Ton 30 minute) for my weedguards and for my jigs. I only epoxy jigs when I use 2d and 3d eyes, or when requested by my customers. The D2T does give the paint a really deep color. You will get other answers here as well to help you decide. Da big tuna
Here is what I use . Hot melt glue will dry out and fail. You cant beat this glue, 3.00 dollars or so and 1 bottle will do a ton of jigs. I glue them in after i'm done with everything. 1 little drop and push the weed guard in. cadman, you beat me to it Edited January 3, 2012 by Da big tuna

D2T is Devcon 2 Ton epoxy, when you get this make sure it is the 30 minute the 5 minute will set up too fast. There is a lot of debate about eyes and if they really help or not, the way I see it is they don't hurt and it doesn't take much to put them on. For me, any bait that is moving I like eyes, and for jigs, I like the poison tail and I didn't notice any difference with or without eyes but the bait looks a lot nicer with eyes so I put them on.
