SRPLASTICS
I met a guy that apparently is a mold master, he showed me samples and I was totally blown away, these things were perfect, glassy smooth on the cavity face, sharp cavity edges, etc... everything you would want. In my opinion they are better than aluminum and way better than silicon and weigh less than both pre mentioned. I am trying to convince him to manufacture, but he isnt sure there would be a demand, put it this way, tired of your silicone molds drying out, loosing that glossy finish, having to put a backer board to keep it from lagging, tired of heavy aluminum, not being able to be as creative and original and you would like to be, having to wait 12 hours for silicone to cure, or how about waiting your place in line at the CnC shop. I personally know one MAJOR manufacturing company that made all there molds out of this new stuff (well, new to me). I told the guy I would check into seeing about an interest, and he said if there were enough, he would consider making molds for sale. Give me some feed back, suggestions, questions, etc... I am not sure of the pricing but I believe they would be around 10-15 bucks regardless of the amount of cavities. Im done with silicone. The cost, the mess, the curing time, you know what I mean. LedHed
SRPLASTICS, Have you tried pouring in the new mold? I would be interested in saltwater swimbait molds.
Ryno Plastics
Sounds great to me! I'd be interested in giving him my business! Ryan
SRPLASTICS
I have poured in the new mold, I am sold, I will probably be having him convert all my silicone molds over, as for salt water swimbaits, its like butter, next time I see him, I will try to get digital pics of the baits that come out of it and post them for viewing. Senkosam
Will he offer 2-part molds? If so, I'd definitely be interested. Sam
LedHed
Butter ??!!! Sign me up.... Saw your web site SR and if you are impressed that's saying something. BTW, like your colors on the swimbaits.

BigZ
OK SR, just WTF are the molds made out of? Most of us here are in this totally for the do it yourself aspect of it, not the pay someone else to do it for you aspect of it. Is this stuff kryptonite or some government secret or what? Fish_N_Fool
I would like to know what this mystery product is also. I don't want any one else to made my molds but I would be interested in tring a new molding mat. I have found a few downfalls to the Durham's I'm using now. Will he sell the molding mat.??????? azbass
Keep me updated on this stuff too. I,m not in business to build molds, leave that to the mold makers. I just want good molds so I can effectively produce quality baits.
SRPLASTICS
I do not know what the material is, I have felt it and seen it, he would not divulge his material name to me, can't blame him, I would do the same. All I know right now is that these molds are top notch and affordable, anything else and I would not even consider revamping all my silicones, as I said, as I get more info, I will post it. SeminoleFan
Hey SR. Im interested in having some molds made. Are these molded like plaster and resin or cut with a cnc machine or wet cast like silicone? Rick
Pop
I am defenitely in. This sounds too good to be true. Pop
SRPLASTICS
The molds are a hard material, but poured wet, what is important is the original mastering of the worm or bait, glossy, smooth sharp edges, your baits are only as good as your molds, he is interested in making molds of your masters for sale only to that individual or company, as for kryptonite, the material is a substance he has developed for other intensions but works awesome for our needs. Molds that would be for sale on his website would only be his original baits, not knock offs like LC has done to everybody, case in point, I had LC make a mold from my original and we understood that it would not be available in the catalog, I even paid the extra to keep it out, fast forward 2 years, and there it is, my original for sale to everyone in the new catalog. azbass
How soon can we begin placing orders and who will we contact? I'm holding off placing a large order to LC until this new deal shapes up. I have about 70 silicon molds that are on their last legs so I hope this happens quickly. cflbasser
Any word on the availability of two part molds?
Mercury
Shoot, go on vacation and new things ALWAYS pop up. Sounds good. I would give it a try. Any thought on cost? How is the durability of the mold? I keep breaking p.o.p. molds just by moving them. Jeff
SRPLASTICS
I will be seeing him on Friday, I have a list of questions to ask him, reply with any other questions would you like answers to. I am hoping to get a picture of the quality and post for review.
Fish_N_Fool
My 2 main questions are 1. Can it make 2 piece molds (It can't shrink at all to get a good 2 piece mold 2. Would he sell the molding material. I want my 2 piece molds made a certain way, so I need to make them myself and I don't really want somebody making copies of my baits. I've got some new molding materials that I want to try out that I think will work but haven't had the time or money to get the stuff. One is kinda spendy, but if it worked it would be the coolest molding mat. ever. They would be totally clear. Would be great for 2 piece molds that you pour more then one color. Like swimbait molds. BigZ
They have about 40 different kinds of clear plastic mold material that would definitely do the job, it's a matter of being willing to mess with 2art esthers, they are qquick to cook off and allow no room for misakes. Other than that they make a wicked bait. I'll stick to aluminum until I see a better alternative. being good with CAD helps..

SRPLASTICS
I may meet up with the mold guy on Sunday, definately on Monday, as for operating temperature, I have no doubt that it holds up to more than 400 degrees, like anyone would be pouring at that temp. Still not sure on 2 part molds and I am definately not sure he would not just sell the material alone. He has agreed to sign any proprietary docs one would want him to sign. He has stressed to me that the only one who sees the molds is the one that paid to have them done. If you are worried about having your stuff knocked off, I persoanlly do not think ANYONE on these boards is in jeopardy of having their bait stolen and someone else making a million on them, besides that is just poor ethics.
