Spinnerbait Clear Coat With Glitter

Recommended Posts

I'm just a hobbiest who powdercoats jig heads, so this isn't gospel. It's just what works for me.

I mix soft plastic glitter into clear nail polish, and use that to add glitter to my jig heads.

If there are some spots I want more glitter, I pinch a little and drop it over the still-wet nail polished head until I get the amount I want.

If I get too much in one spot, I use the same nail polish brush to remove it, and just mix it back into the glitter/polish bottle.

I don't think my method would work for production, but it lets my customize my jig heads, and add glitter to spinnerbaits, too.

Hard as Nail, nail polish looks awesome on jigs and such and come sin sparkles.

Can I still keep my man card?

I used to live in a small town in a pretty rural area of the Deep South - about 100 miles from a big city. i made some jigs for a buddy at work and I had to get some cherry red Hard as Nails. He wanted to know what he owed me for the jigs. I told him that he didn't owe me a damn thing for the jigs, but what he owed me for waiting in line at Wal-Mart in this town with a bottle of red nail polish - that was a debt he could never repay! :):)

I forgot to mention. Joanne's Farbric has this stuff called Glitter glue. I was trying to glitter something when my daughter walked in my shop. she said "try this stuff I have." and pulled out this Glitter glue. I drew a line down the side of the lure and it's too thick. I think they use it to write glitters lines on stuff. I keep a wet plate on the desk and wet the brush and smear it around. Then drag it all too the front to make it even. It really adds to it and you can see it when it moves and the picture does not show it real well.

I know they are plugs and this is the wire bait, but you can put it on anything as long as you water proff it!!
