davefarley98
Was wondering if the 4" tube mold came with four rods. In the pic it only shows one. Doesn't make any sense to me to have four cavities and only one rod. I tried looking for a contact number or email address to ask them but it's nowhere to be found. Thanks in advance. Also, does anyone have any experience with this mold and can give a review. I know a lot of you guys dip but I prefer either hand pour or injection. gone2long
I'm not positive as I don't have that mold but I believe you have to split the tails with a tail splitter for that kind of money go get yourself a few of bears tube molds as you do not need the extra step of splitting tails. I'm quite sure it comes with a rod for each cavity though. At the bottom of their website its provides a link for the tail splitter if you decide to go that route. davefarley98
I would buy the bears mold but the only thing I don't like is that the tube body is not smooth. It looks ribbed somewhat. At least in the picture on their website it does.

At least in the picture on their website it does. The bass don't care but you can dip the body in clear plastisol afterwards
davefarley98
Good point! I never thought of that.
gone2long
Good point! I never thought of that. Most seem to dip as it makes the head thicker and you can fool with color combos that way as well, not sure if smooth is proprietary but you can ask the mold maker to create a smooth tube if its not infringing on any patent. Romeo D
Caney Creek has tube molds that do not requre splitting. Their inserts interchange with their other molds as well which is a great feature. If you happen to get tube molds from someone else and it happens to arrive incomplete, you may have to wait a long time to get the required parts. MonteSS
I have an old BassTackle 4" 2 cavity (and two splines) tube mold that is great. I heard he doesnt make them anymore as they were to expensive to make (and sell) with all the machining. ....Bill
Jig Man
I use Bear's molds and the fish don't care about the ribbed look. Sometimes I dip for extra weight but mostly I just fish them the way they come out.
