ute Posted January 24, 2012 Report Share Posted January 24, 2012 I use a lot of CSI Seal Coat for various lead lures, but I really don't think it is what you are looking for when it comes to Crankbaits. Guys use this stuff on plugs for Blue fish and it holds up under them. Bass will hardly scratch this, but you'll need a lure turner. I looked at rotisarres and will probably have to get one if I plan on using this stuff, but it will be best for the long haul. How much time is invested in them. A day or two more to let the bait sit to toughen it even more. I see you witha musky there and more toothy critters are hard on a finish. Guys just cashing bass can use a water based poly as bass have small teeth. A lot of guys like 2 ton epoxy and in my research I find guys buying it and getting the yellowing kind by accident. I opted for the Etex as all the stiper lure makers are using it. rotorhead Posted January 25, 2012 Report Share Posted January 25, 2012 I have tried the seal coat from Janns netcraft. It is not anywhere near as hard as e-tex or D2T. I would use either e-tex or D2t to final coat your plugs. You will need to rotate when using the two part clear coat but it will also hold up much better.
