Kermodebaits
I recently picked up a couple new single injectors and a twin injector. Although they work decent and still shoot good baits, they seem a bit sticky while trying to inject. Is there a break in period for them as the dont seem as smooth as my previous injectors. I always keep the o-ring lubed up with a couple drops of softner or worm oil and this helps a bit, they also smooth out a bit once warm. But still think they should be smoother. I dont remember my olds ones ever being sticky. Any thoughts? Thanks
Jig Man
I have to take mine apart and give the inside a good cleaning to get them the way I like when injecting.
Kermodebaits
I do keep them clean and they are still not as smooth as I think they should be.
smallmouthaholic
Spray the inside and "O" ring sparingly w/ PAM cooking spray every time they start to bind up
Painter1
I thought it was just mine, I bought a new twinjector set last month and need to be the Hulk to move the plunger. The garage is colder this time of year so that may be part of the problem.
superharmonix
On the Twin- Aluminum can be a bit tricky sometimes..... Loosen the top venting so you can pull the plungers all the way out. drop a couple drops of worm oil in there...put back together and give it a few pushes and pulls... Now, carefully loosen the crossbar nut just enough to where the injectors can both SLIGHTLY and I mean barely move. Don't loosen to the point they don't line up..shoot some baits and in between each one tighten it back. Now take it apart, clean everything and re-apply the few drops of worm oil. If this doesn't work, repeat the above except SLIGHTLY loosen the venting discs each way until it feels a bit smoother. It will get smoother over time. He has those o-rings packed in there pretty tight, and even though they are high-temp, they'll bust down a bit after some shooting sessions and the Twin will smooth out. hope this helps... I have had this issue before, but that Twinjector just rocks. It's just like breaking in a new trolling motor to me. Ahhhh. If you still are stuck email Kevin and Sarah and they'll take care of you. carolinamike
Also you might want to contact the person you've bought your injectors from and see if they used standard O rings. If they did the standards then you'll want to change them out with Viton O rings. These O rings are more chemical resistant and more heat resistant and will outlast standard by a long shot. Frank
I would say Super has it nailed down great. It will get better and better as it gets used more and more. The use of aluminium os the injectors Is not the best choice of material but makes for a real reasonable price. Being as tight a tolerance as they are causes a sticky plunger feel. I am not but I think Kevin told me he uses the viton orings I have changed mine to silicone ones and they stay pretty pliable all the time. On the Twinjector loose is good and makes it way easier to use till it gets broken in. I have a custom Twinjectors set that uses a radial bearing on both upper shafts. This is real smooth but really REALLY pricey. But It is only money. Frank

mark poulson
What about Vaseline on the O ring?
R Glover
I spray a little WD-40 in the tubes & on the O-Rings, this seems to smooth them out pretty well.

bassman2169
I have had the same issue. Cleaned thoroughly and lubed with silicone spray (thanks bass candy!). Worked great.
