Arkie
Has anyone successfully duplicated the color-shift on the back of a Vision 110 Elegy Bone? I have Flair Teal/Purple color shift as well as Highlight interference in Blue and purple. Elegy Bone appears Turquoise on direct look and Purple on side cast. Any help? Gentle
I've messed with with a few color shift paint schemes, pearl wakasagi was one that drove me completely nuts, but I finally did figure it out. I had to make my own paint to achieve the desired affects. I bought pearlescent powder from Paint with Pearl, and mixed it with createx gloss top coat. They have about anything you could imagine. I do a shad color thats has a similar effect to elegy bone, I use their " violet satin ghost pearl pigment" and mist it over black, from the side it looks black, but from the back it's purple. I think the exact same powder would work for elegy bone. Hope this helps.
Arkie
Excellent! Just visited paint with pearls. What is your mix ratio? I see that they sell 25 gram bags. Is your Createx clear a 2 oz. bottle? I see that they have a chamelion blue purple that looks like it might work as well. Ratio hints? Gentle
Ratios, I don't get worry about being exact every time, I have a little knife that I stick the tip in the powder and mix that with about a 1/2 once of the clear. Yeah it's a 2 oz. bottle I get from Hobby Lobby. I was thinking of using the turquoise as a base and mist the violet ghost over it. They have quit a bit of info on the site about how to achieve different effects, wish I had a little baggy of each of their powders, the effects you can achieve with that stuff is amazing and endless. bobv
Wasco's wildlife colors- iridescent blue and iridescent violet work great for that effect without mixing the pearl. Same effect when you shoot over black and equally cool over white.
Richard Prager
How is the odor on both the pearls and the Wasco?
Gentle
I haven't noticed any odor with the pearl, that's any different from createx paint.
