UNO
Guys, I am toying with molding an actual fish. Real newbie questions here. Can I make a cast of this fish in a POP mold or is that not going to work? Will the fish bond to the POP? Planning on using clay as a base, inserting fish, and pouring the POP on top to make a two piece. Can I pour POP on top of clay? What is the type of clay I need to be looking for? Heading to an art supply store in a bit. Saw the Bondo filler + Fiberglass resin for molding fish. Is this a better route? Thanks for any info, shooting me down, or just a better idea. SHK
i would try RTV silicone first to be safe.
UNO
Understand what you are saying completely, but as info the fish is a baitfish that is very replaceable. Just wondering if Pop is at all feasible?
Little man baits
After reading so many helpful posts on here regarding molds and what to use to make them I have to go with RTV silicone by far the best to use at the end of the day a bit more expensive yes.... But by the time you try pop and bondo and everything else out there u could probably bought some RTV. Just my opinion
UNO
Well I went for it last night. I'm pretty pumped up, against all odds I think it came out pretty well. With a little more practice I think I may actually be able to get it pretty close out of the plaster. I know RTV would be better, but I am just learning the mold making/plastic pouring crafts and boy is there a lot of stuff to spend money on. Not sure how well it will pour but planning on trying it out soon and will report back with the results. I think I may be addicted already.
