Jewelry grade plaster of paris

Recommended Posts

I read about this plaster of paris that you can pour soft metal in . So I thought it would be good for plastics . I searched the jewelry supply stores on the web and could not find anyone who sells it . If you know anything about this product let me know . The plaster is ground super fine so it picks up detail and has a harder finish.

It sounds like your refering to "investment plaster" used for the lost wax or Cire Perdue process of art casting. I'm not sure if it would work well for a soft plastic mold, because it is porous and made to crumble easily. Your dentist might have some or know someone who does because it's also used in making crowns, dentures, etc.
