Jigsisme
I haven't poured plastics in quite a few years. When I did, I poured the micro/pyrex method...what are some other low buck methods you are using? Can you use a Lee's IV Pot? What about this pot that I saw that looks like a crock pot? I want to pour just single sided molds, Just curious.

t-billy
I like a pouring pot/hotplate for small batches and a presto pot for larger runs. They allow for much better temp control than a microwave. Lodge logic makes a sweet little cast iron pouring pot that heats slowly and evenly and makes scorching plastic much harder to do than the thinner aluminum pots. They also hold heat better while your pouring.
Painter1
You mentioned "low buck" method. The Lees production pots & Presto Pots are not cheap.

Actually a Presto Pot is pretty cheap, around $20 at WalMart, and for another $10 or so and a little ingenuity you can add your own spigot. I use the micro/pyrex method and it works good for me. The Lees pot I have is really good if you are pouring 1 piece molds but I bought mostly injection molds and dont need the Lees pot anymore. The pot you saw that looks like a crock pot is probably made by Bears Baits and they work great especially if you have a lot of plastic to pour.
