jigmeister
I know delw was working on stocking/selling some version of a "super plastic" from "Calhoun" plastics but had some pouring /coloring issues he was working on . Anyone else out there have any scoop on the availabilty of a similar type plastic ? From some info I found online the Cyber flexxx plastic requires some specialized injection molding process to make it work . Thanks -Jigmeister
siebler_custom_baits
you have to heat it in a ot and have to use powder colorings.
Tubeman
I have a gallon of Calhouns version left. Your right about powder pigments, thats all you can use other than fine glitters. It can't be microwaved, has to be hot potted and needs to be heated to around 400 degrees to melt it down from its solid state. From there you can drop it down to 300 degrees to allow for the addition of glitters. Its pours like plastisol, you dont need injection equipment. If anyone wants the last gallon, 25 bucks + shipping will take it.
the_hide
Its because its elastomeric gel and its actually designed to withstand those heats and elements deliberatly since its original use I believe is as an insulator etc.

If so I would be interested in purchasing it - could you please advise your post code so I can work out postage to Australia. jigmeister
Apparently some who have purchased and tried it don't care for it or they wouldn't be selling it off ? I have a particular lure design in mind and if the Calhouns version is similar to the "Cyberflexxx" it should be perfect . Anyone who's already tried the Calhouns have any comments good ,bad, or indifferent ?
siebler_custom_baits
colors are limited are the main thing. the other thing is for a larger coompany like Scot it takes to long to heat pots of plastic. he was doing saltwater baits in it and they were great but limited for colors. jigmeister
I was looking around on the internet and found all kinds of powdered pigments in basic colors and pearlized colors that looked like it might work . Will pearlescent powders for worm pouring work with the super plastic formula? Thanks- Ken
siebler_custom_baits
i believe all it has to be is the powdered color pigment and it will work.
