Cormorant Lures
Just looking to see if anyone injects the BT 709 Craw mold? Do the resulting baits have good claw action? Pros/Cons? Any info is deeply appreciated!!! (url removed) Edited February 18, 2012 by redg8r url removed
MonteSS
I had the 709 and it had good action. 702 is what you want. Incredible flapping claw action. Best I have seen on any craw. I got a 2 cavity and wish I had gotten a four cavity. ...Bill
Cormorant Lures
Upon first glance, looks like the claws are pretty close to the 709... Only major differences are body style and the extra appendages... Am I wrong?!? Is there that much of a difference in action between the 709 and the 702?!? There is about a $20 price difference in the molds, so if I can get consecutive opinions in this direction, I can easily justify the cost... Thanks!!! Keep the opinions coming!!! patrick reif
I have the 702 as well. It's a nice bait. Wish I'd have bought more than the single cavity mold I cut off the last 1"-1.5" of the body and thread it on a poisontail jig tied up mop style for flipping into laydowns on the Yadkin for largemouth and spots. It's a nice bait. I also have the 2" chunk with the same flappers design I use as my go to for finesse jigs for smallies. Great bait!!! I just shot about 100 today. MonteSS
Huge difference in the claw designs. The 702 claws' tips are bulbous and work like the paddletail on a swim bait. ...Bill

Cormorant Lures
Thanks for the photo Bill... I can really see the difference between the Craws from the picture... Here's the complete list of all the Craw molds that interest me: BT 709 BT Bite Me BT 702 BT 3.75" Craw Bear's 4" Craw Worm I guess now that the list is updated, PRO's and CON's of each?!? I am really getting into this BT 702 Craw, but still looking to see if there are other opinions... THANKS AGAIN!!!
Tree_Fish
+1 on the
patrick reif
http://www.bearsbaits.com/KODIAK-CRAW-2-TRAILER-275_p_282.html Not to add confusion to disorder, but I love the 1.75" version for finesse jigs. The jig trailers you posted seem to be more largemouth than smallie stuff, hence the larger chunk mold. My wife calls it the "4 pointer buck jig thingy thing". It really does look like a small buck. It also has a super nice little wag to the tail...up and down...up and down. Love that mold!!!
basshunter5
I also have the 702 in 4 cavity and I love it! It has amazing action even with little weight
