RAWJigs
What do you guys use and how do you attach them to the cup? Just bought a 5 foot stick of PVC and seeing what to do about attaching the filter.
cadman
You can use, paper bags, tyvek envelopes from the P.O, vacuum cleaner bags, lunch bags etc. You will have to do trial and error to see what works for your powder paint. I glued it to the bottom of the cup with polyseam adhesive.
Oldfart9999
I use silicone sealer, for the filter I use filter paper from a filter manufacturer, but what Cadman said will work. No filter paper is perfect, it just takes trial and error to work with what you have. Rodney
RAWJigs
I glued a coffee filter to the bottom and cut it so it would fit in the air chamber deal. I guess it is going to be trial and error. I had to almost open up the valve for it to do anything. trial and error. do you guys have problems getting the cups out of the bed period? I have a problem with the cup not wanting to be removed.
Oldfart9999
I made my fluid bed, & yes, it's tight, pvc pipe is made with a tight fit so that it stays together before glue up. It is actually made for plumbing work but works well for fluid beds, just trim the filter tight to the pipe and it shouldn't rip or tear. Jig Man
I use coffee filter, vaccum bag filters, brown paper bags all held on with cheap silicone.
smalljaw
You can also go to Tjs tackle and buy the the same type of porous board he uses in his. And if you haven't started your build yet you may just want to buy one of his. It is a very reasonable price but more importantly it works really well, I got one from him a few years ago and it works like a charm, a very good product! BLT
I bought my fluid bed from TJ, and 2 cups. Great guy do deal with. I built 4 more cups around 6" high for my larger stuff, use paper bags. Has anyone ever tried that meterial they use on flower beds to keep weeds down? I read somewhere a guy was using this material. RAWJigs
I bought mine from a guy at a boat show in Huntsville, AL last weekend. Gave me killer deals on powder and I paid 40 bucks for mine.

Crymdawg
I use the Allergy type pillow cases that are a tightly woven synthetic cloth. I glue them onto the tube with a silicone caulk. I also used a buddy's Sawz-All to cut the tube. Was very simple to use but a hack saw also works.
mossboss2
I went and got some test caps for the PVC and punch out the middle , lay your filter material over the PVC pipe and thenpress the test cap on, it holds it tight and very easy to change when needed

I had made some aluminum rings and bored a step on the end of my cups to do the same thing Not exactly a DIY project, but yours is! I like it! mhtrapper
I did the same thing with the test cap cut out the very bottom so all you have left is ring with the lip you can cut out excess by following along the edge of test cap . Would also like to try and see a piece of this filter board every one is talking about if at all possiable and where to buy it. sdsaw
Would also like to try and see a piece of this filter board every one is talking about if at all possiable and where to buy it. Thanks That's the question of the hour The filter media is the only thing setting the DIY fluid beds from the professionally made ones I might like to add: Electrical PVC pipe(light gray color) has a slightly larger inside diameter than white PVC pipe so the test caps DO NOT fit tightly on the 3" cups if using the gray pipe. Not sure about 2". I found this out the hard way Edited March 5, 2012 by sdsaw
