josey wales
Hi guys, I want to pour a few dozen bottom bouncers for myself, using .041 wire. Can I make a jig or bend this with Pliers? Or do I need to buy a bender? Thanks Joe
patrick reif
I've just started bending wire for bass sized Cow Girls, and I'm getting pretty tight and neat wraps with nothing more than pliers. I will need to order a thicker wire though to get the durability I want. If it's just for you, I'd just do the pliers thing until you wanted to market them. After that a wire bender might help with production time I bought a Kobalt set of 15 differant pliers and wire cutters for less than $30 at Lowes over Christmas. A good wire bender is going to be 3 or 4 times that price.
Musky Glenn
I would recommend you get a pair of round nose pliers, they do professional work and I believe they are faster than a tool, even if they are a little harder on your hands. atijigs
Add a vice grip to your round nose pliers and you will be able to make a clean wire form with a little practice. Use the vice grip to grab the eye after you form it with the round nose. Turn the vice grip holding the tag with the pliers and you will get nice tight wraps.
