Raw Worm
Sorry to repost but I did get any resonse in the other section... I would like make my own "Rebarb" style hooks. I know that they made with shrink tubing that is cut at an angle but, is there a special type of shrink tubing or is it formed in a special way? Any tips will be great help thank you. smalljaw
I think the reason for not getting a response is most buy those types of hooks including myself. I don't know where you posted this before but try the plastics forum, those guys are more likey to know the answer to this than anyone here. Oldfart9999
Rebarbing hooks is easy, I do it while I'm watching tv. You need the smallest shrink tube you can get, the type you find at Lowes or Home Depot is fine, something to cut it with, a pair of needle nose pliers and a lighter. I cut the tubeing about 3/16 of an inch long, make the first cut at a 45 degree angle, slip it over the hook so that the angle is pointing to the eye, hold the tubing at the angle with the pliers and heat it so it shrinks. I have the long part in the gap of the hook. It is much easier than it sounds, and if the tubing comes loose all you have to do is reheat it. I find this much cheaper than buying rebarb hooks.
