frithy
hey guys. just chasing some suggestions on good plastics for trailers for chatterbaits and larger spinnerbaits, I'm mainly looking for durability, I know Z-man elaztech is good, are there any opinions on Yamamoto or Zoom, as these both have baits that would suit my lures? If not, what other recommendations do ya'll have? Cheers
mark poulson
I use both Zoom and Yamamoto split tail trailers, and they are both made from tougher plastic that holds up. It's not the same plastic as their worms and other soft baits. Neither is as tough and stretchy as elaztech, but I can super glue one on and it lasts for a dozen fish or more. EironBreaker
I've used the Cajon Craw trailer from Bass Pro Shops on them. Lots of action and holds up well.
frithy
Thanks guys. I'm liking the Yamamoto single tail grubs, Z-man Crawdadz and Zoom Fat Albert grubs. anyone had any experience with these fellas?
mark poulson
I know Yamamoto makes a single tail grub that specially for spinnerbait trailers. At least, they used to.
loodkop
For chatterbaits I like tying in a zonker strip. Plenty of action and lasts much better than plastic.
Musky Glenn
My all time favorite trailer is a Zoom split tail trailer in Glimmer Blue. Not as durable as some but it is killer on char/white spinner baits. They only make occasional runs of this color, so buy them when you find them. The most durable trailers I have used are the ones that come with the Hank Parker spinner baits my Mann. Musky Glenn
