davefarley98
FYI I will be using bears colorants. It seems to have green pumpkin (obviously) and fine black flake. Possibly a drop or two of black? Any help would be appreciated I know a lot on here are way more experienced at mixing colors than I am. Thanks. Oh, also I will be pouring sticks so I'm not sure how the color will be effected by the salt.
rayhorse
I use a very primitive way of color matching but it works grate. I use just basic colors yellow, red, blue, black and white. From different mixtures I produce my own Brown, green, green pumpkin or pumpkin etc, start mixing with the lure you want to match in your hand, make 3 or 5 different mixed samples and you will find a way to get very closer. There are many ways to get a mixed color with different basic colors. Make an art color mixing search on google. Ray
Stick'em
To me this color looks to have a cinnamon hue to it. I don't think it's a true green pumpkin. Maybe it has heavy small bronze flake changing the look of the green pumpkin to a "dirty" or brownish color. I would try a little green pumpkin and cinnamon with a bronze or copper fleck. SHK
just goes to show you how unreliable computer screens are. buy a bag and get one in your hand and see what you can come up with
Stick'em
So true, SHK. Tough to really get it narrowed down from a computer pic.
nova
To me it looks like a double dip tube(one color over another). If you increase your screen percentage you can see it. www.novalures.com
Stick'em
To me it looks like a double dip tube(one color over another). If you increase your screen percentage you can see it. www.novalures.com Your right, it does have flare to the tails. I'm still not seeing a heavy green pumpkin anywhere though, more of mix of a brownie color and GP, with tiny fleck.
davefarley98
Well I tried to replicate the tube. I think I came pretty close. Not exact though. I got to thinking that maybe where the sticks are heavily salted that it would be extremely difficult to match the color exactly. Am I wrong or can it be achieved? tacklecrafter
Thats a bad pic dave. Here is my copy of cabin creek dark dirty green pumpkin which it is more brown. These tubes were done with bears colors.
Shmang
Fished that bait this weekend - it is more of a motor oil color. I would go 50/50 GP and Motor Oil blend and add a drop of PB for the brown effect. That is what I did.
